Lecturer
Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering
National University of Singapore
Profile
Educator and researcher in computing, with experience across Programming Methodology, Algorithms, Machine Learning and Computer vision.
Biography
I am a Lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the National University of Singapore. My academic work combines university teaching, curriculum development, student mentorship and research in machine learning and computer vision.
I completed my PhD at the NUS School of Computing, where my doctoral research investigated learning principles inspired by the human brain, including continual learning, recency, similarity-based learning and predictive coding. Earlier, I earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka.
My teaching experience covers Discrete Structures, Data Structures and Algorithms, Machine learning, Programming Methodology and Software Engineering. I am especially interested in making difficult abstractions concrete through carefully sequenced examples, practical exercises and transparent assessment design.
